General design

Engineering design

The sixth edition of Engineering Design continues its tradition of being more oriented to material selection, design for manufacturing, and design for quality than other broad-based design texts. The text is intended to be used in either a junior or senior engineering design course with an integrated, hands-on design project. At the University of Maryland, we (the authors) present the design process material, Chapters 1 through 9, to junior students in a course introducing the design process. The whole text is used in the senior capstone design course that includes a complete design project, starting from selecting a market to creating a working prototype. Our intention is that students will consider this book to be a valuable part of their professional library. Toward this end we have continued and expanded the practice of giving key literature references and referrals to useful websites

Applied systems engineering

This book provides a basic but complete coverage of the discipline known as systems engineering. We offer a framework encapsulating the entire systems engineering discipline, clearly showing where the multitude of associated activities fits within the overall effort, providing an ideal vehicle for understanding the complex discipline.

Exploring Arduino : tools and techniques for engineering wizardry

The bestselling beginner Arduino guide, updated with new projects! Exploring Arduino makes electrical engineering and embedded software accessible. Learn step by step everything you need to know about electrical engineering, programming, and human-computer interaction through a series of increasingly complex projects. Arduino guru Jeremy Blum walks you through each build, providing code snippets and schematics that will remain useful for future projects. Projects are accompanied by downloadable source code, tips and tricks, and video tutorials to help you master Arduino. You’ll gain the skills you need to develop your own microcontroller projects! This new 2nd edition has been updated to cover the rapidly-expanding Arduino ecosystem, and includes new full-color graphics for easier reference. Servo motors and stepper motors are covered in richer detail, and you’ll find more excerpts about technical details behind the topics covered in the book. Wireless connectivity and the Internet-of-Things are now more prominently featured in the advanced projects to reflect Arduino’s growing capabilities.

Manual of engineering drawing : British and international standards

Manual of Engineering Drawing: British and International Standards, fifth edition, chronicles ISO and British Standards in engineering drawings, providing many examples that will help readers understand how to translate engineering specifications into a visual medium. The book includes 6 introductory chapters which provide foundational theory and contextual information regarding the broader context of engineering drawing and design. The concepts enclosed will help readers gain the most out of their drawing skills. As the standards referred to in this book change every few years, this new edition presents an important update
