The text is intended to be used in either a junior or senior\u00a0engineering design\u00a0course with an integrated, hands-on\u00a0design\u00a0project. At the University of Maryland, we (the authors) present the\u00a0design\u00a0process material, Chapters 1 through 9, to junior students in a course introducing the\u00a0design\u00a0process. The whole text is used in the senior capstone\u00a0design\u00a0course that includes a complete\u00a0design\u00a0project, starting from selecting a market to creating a working prototype. Our intention is that students will consider this book to be a valuable part of their professional library.
